Stronger Together Programme

Stronger Together Programme

Stronger Together is a three-year KidsAid initiative supported by funding from The National Lottery Community Fund through its Reaching Communities programme.

It brings schools, families and communities together to help children and young people access timely, trauma-informed therapeutic support.

Bridging the gap

Some children need more support than everyday wellbeing services can provide but may not meet the threshold for statutory services.

By providing therapy within schools, Stronger Together will make support more accessible in a familiar environment.

How the programme works

A team of two therapists will be based in each school for one day a week, providing individual and group therapy and working with children, families, staff and school leaders.

The support will help children and young people to:

Parents and carers will also be offered therapeutic support, helping to strengthen family relationships and collaboration between home and school.

Supporting school communities

Pastoral staff will be offered trauma-informed training and reflective practice, building on their existing skills and experience.

Over three years, KidsAid will work alongside school leaders to embed trauma-informed approaches into professional practice and everyday school culture, creating lasting and sustainable change.
