Creative Therapy

Creative Therapy facilitates non-verbal expression as a combination of creative approaches are used to support children and young people safely process traumatic experiences and learn coping strategies to promote positive mental health.

Creative Therapy sessions are client-led. The therapist is guided by what the client brings to their therapy session.

Using creativity such as art, play and music can provide a safe environment where children and young people can feel comfortable to be themselves.

Aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Family Attachment Therapy may also be used.

In the sessions, the client can play and create freely in an expressive and open way which allows them to build a solid foundation for a non-judgmental relationship with their therapist.

CREATIVE THERAPY CAN HELP CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE COMMUNICATE, EXPLORE REPRESSED THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS, ADDRESS UNRESOLVED TRAUMA AND EXPERIENCE PERSONAL GROWTH.
