People, Culture and Inclusion Trustee

We are seeking a People, Culture and Inclusion Trustee to provide strategic oversight of EDI and people management, ensuring KidsAid’s governance, culture, and HR practices reflect equity, inclusivity, and best practice, supporting a fair, supportive, and high-performing organisation.

Role Overview

The People, Culture and Inclusion Trustee will provide strategic guidance to the Board on EDI and people management, ensuring these principles are embedded across governance, organisational culture, and decision-making.

This role brings insight into inclusive practice and workforce development, helping to shape KidsAid’s approach to recruitment, leadership, and service delivery so that it reflects equity and inclusion at every level.

It will also provide oversight of EDI strategy, policies, and progress, supporting the development of initiatives that promote inclusive practices and ensuring accountability against organisational commitments.

A key aspect of the role is advising on people and HR-related matters, including workforce planning, staff wellbeing, and organisational policies, ensuring compliance with employment law and alignment with best practice.

Impact of the Role

This is a vital trustee position, shaping how KidsAid operates both internally and externally, and ensuring equity, diversity, and inclusion are embedded across the organisation. In doing so, it will help foster a culture where fairness, representation, and respect are consistently experienced by everyone involved in our work.

Through strategic oversight of EDI and people practices, the role will support a positive, inclusive, and well-governed environment where staff, trustees, contractors, and volunteers feel valued and able to thrive.

Its contribution will help embed inclusive principles into strategic decision-making, ensuring our services are accessible, responsive, and reflective of the diverse communities we serve – reducing barriers to access, improving equity of outcomes, and modelling best practice across the sector.
