Data Protection Trustee

We are seeking a Data Protection Trustee to provide Board-level oversight of data protection, cyber security, and information governance at KidsAid. This role is vital in ensuring we safely manage highly sensitive information while delivering trauma-informed support to children, young people, and families.

Role Overview

The Data Protection Trustee will play a key governance role, providing strategic oversight on behalf of the Board. You will offer expert guidance to ensure KidsAid maintains robust systems, policies, and safeguards to protect highly sensitive client data across all aspects of service delivery.

You will support the Board and senior leadership team to identify and manage data protection risks, ensure compliance with UK GDPR and wider regulatory requirements, and advise on cyber security and information governance, helping to ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect against evolving digital threats and maintain secure and resilient systems.

In addition, you will contribute to policy development and training. Given the size of the operational team, your input will be particularly valuable in helping to prioritise risk and guide practical, proportionate solutions, enabling KidsAid to operate safely and compliantly while continuing to deliver trusted trauma-informed support.

Impact of the Role

The Data Protection Trustee will play a vital governance role in safeguarding the integrity and security of KidsAid’s most sensitive information. You will ensure robust data protection, cyber security, and information governance frameworks are in place, helping to protect the privacy and wellbeing of the children, young people, and families we support. In doing so, you will enable KidsAid to operate safely, maintain trust with partners, and expand its reach without compromising quality or security.
