A transformative partnership between KidsAid and The Core at Corby Cube has brought new opportunities for local teenagers to build confidence and emotional resilience through creative therapy.
Over the course of 12 weeks, M Power — a free dramatherapy programme — offered young people in Corby the chance to explore their feelings, express themselves creatively, and form meaningful peer connections in a safe, supportive space.
Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Northamptonshire Community Foundation, M Power was designed as a unique collaboration between The Core’s artistic outreach and KidsAid’s therapeutic expertise.
Each week, participants aged 12–16 came together for sessions using drama, storytelling, movement, art, and music to support emotional wellbeing, build self-confidence, and promote healthy social interaction. With a focus on emotional safety, participants were encouraged to express their individuality and connect with others.
“I loved it, it helped me open up and be myself.”
“It helped me talk more and be confident around people.”

These reflections highlight the programme’s success in building trust and promoting growth through creative expression.
The programme was co-created and delivered by professionals from both KidsAid and The Core. Rebecca Caswell-Fox, CEO of KidsAid, shared:
“Creativity, connection, and the right support can make a real difference in young people’s lives. Through M Power, we’ve seen how this partnership helps young people find their voice and build resilience in a safe, supported environment.”
Karen Cudby, Youth Development Coordinator at The Core, added:
“This pilot programme has shown just how important it is to create spaces where young people feel genuinely seen and heard. The confidence they developed through creative expression has been remarkable.”
Adele Luca Del Giudici, KidsAid Art Therapist, reflected on the experience:
“M Power was an amazing opportunity to bring together the creative and unique young people of Corby. Over 12 weeks we explored emotions and what it means to be ourselves. We used art, play, and drama to express both as individuals and as a group. We laughed, cried, and supported each other in our sacred creative space. I feel incredibly grateful and excited for the next group. There’s something very special happening in Corby thanks to M Power.”
Following the success of the pilot, a second M Power programme will launch in September 2025, again offering free support for young people aged 12–16. Sessions will be held at The Core and led by trained dramatherapists and youth workers.
