Terms of Business

Kidsaid is a charity providing therapeutic interventions (play, art and drama therapy) for children and young people. Our Terms of Business are as follows:

Funded Referrals

  1. Following referral there will be an initial assessment (at the clinical meeting)  to determine whether the therapeutic interventions that the charity offers are appropriate for the client who has been referred and to confirm the precise intervention that will be offered, the number of sessions that will be offered and where they will take place. The case will then be allocated to a therapist by the clinical director. In complex cases, a family link worker may make a further assessment.
  2. Therapy is normally offered in 12 session blocks at a cost of £845 for play therapy and £1235 for Theraplay. This charge covers two one hour meetings (as appropriate) and a written report (at 12 weeks).  If further work is required, this will be discussed with the referrer and the clinical director and a decision reached as to whether or not it will take place and how it will be funded. Similarly if, during the course of therapy, the therapist deems that it is appropriate for adult carers to have a separate piece of work done with them so that they can support the child in therapy, this will be charged for at the rate of £40 per session.
  3. Funders will be invoiced once the case has been allocated. Therapy must be paid for in advance and will not start until funding has been received.
  4. 24 hours notice in advance (to be given by the client’s carer) is required to cancel or to rearrange an appointment. Where less than 24 hours notice is given, the appointment will be counted as a therapy session and will be charged for as such. The funder/referrer will be informed of instances where the client has not attended or failed to give less than the required period of notice of a change. Repeated failure to attend appointments without good reason will be referred to the Clinical Director who may decide to terminate the therapy prematurely. In these cases, the funder will be informed, a report will be written and a refund will be given for the number of the sessions remaining.
  5. The costs of therapy include charges for attending up to two professionals meetings e.g. core group, CAF or other meetings called by the referrer/funder. If a therapist is invited to attend further meetings of this kind, it may be possible to arrange this. However, this must be agreed with the clinical director in advance. A charge of £40 per hour will be made and mileage will be charged at a rate of 40p per mile. The referrer/funder will be invoiced following the additional meeting. Payment must be received within 28 days of the invoice being raised.
