On Wednesday 16th January, the European Parliament in Strasbourg voted on the Angelilli Report on working towards an EU strategy on the rights of the child.
Amongst other things, the Report called for tougher measures to combat paedophilia on the internet and an EU-wide telephone helpline for children.
The Chair of the Board of Trustees, David Mackintosh, discussed this report with Members of the European Parliament and this was raised in the Chamber by Chris Heaton-Harris MEP who represents Northamptonshire.
Chris Heaton-Harris said, “I represent in the town of Northampton a new charity called ‘KidsAid’ founded by a gentleman called David Mackintosh, who had strong opinions that most of this report was actually very, very good.”
