“Without reservation, we would like to recommend ‘KidsAid’ for the outstanding Therapies that they offer children and parents. As an infant school, we often come across children who find it very difficult to cope with normal classroom routines and expectations. Following careful information gathering, we find this is often as a result of trauma within the family, loss, change or attachment and relationship difficulties. Since the ‘birth’ of KidsAid, we have had access to expert professionals and therapies which have benefited these individual children. Play Therapy has been particularly effective and the Therapists involved often work with the parents in conjunction with the sessions. After only 12 sessions we see a remarkable difference in the coping strategies of the children which then go on to help them cope with future transitions to other schools and other circumstances in their lives. Parents have been most appreciative and even used words such as ‘Thank you for all the support. It has been life-changing’.
As an organisation, KidsAid are prompt to deal with referrals, approachable for advice and flexibility and it is lovely to have such expert support in our local area. We are looking forward to accessing the other Creative Therapies such as Art Therapy and Music Therapy in the future. With current cuts in outside agency support within the education system we are even more reliant on charities like KidsAid and it is vital that we have their support in order to keep these children that struggle, within the mainstream education system. Without support from charities like KidsAid, there is real risk of exclusion for these children.
